KINKS, TWISTS, CORNROWS AND MORE.....

Hello Curlys!

I know I have been MIA for over 3-4 months! I sincerely apologise and hope I am FORGIVEN :-))...Well, well, well...I am back in the Sub-Saharan part of Africa! and trust me my kinks are way different. At first I was disappointed at how the weather treated them, but now that I am well settled in I know how to manage and take care of them. I moisturise and wash my locks more often, because of the humidity.  I also trim my ends every month, to keep them even and healthy (You don't have to trim yours, I just prefer to do so). Below is a picture of how my locks looked in February before the trim...

After trim
My hair is very prone to split ends so I moisturise the ends, seal them with oils and steam naturally with body heat very often with Organic Mayonnaise and eggs. My next post will explain explicitly my steaming regime.

Now for the part I have been itching to write about...I am so in love with braids and cornrows for some reason. I have over done myself this time with em!  Cornrows and braids  are natural hair styles that you can run to when you are tired of your natural kinks or you want a different look (no offence sistas! lol) I am particularly in love with long Senegalese twists...

Burna Gurl!!!

My curly cousin rocking box braids styled in a high bun! Fab!
I am presently rocking kinky twists, I don't have any pics to prove that now, so bare with me..lol, but my cousin is rocking hers beautifully!!
Mrs Kemi Carey on chunky kinky twists!
While rocking em, you have to pay a lot of attention and MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE!! MOISTURIZE!!! If you can sprinkle water on her hair everyday, please do so, this is because our kinks tend to get very dry and your hair under braids will loose a lot of moisture because of the extensions added to it.
I have also been spotted donning "Sukku and base" oh yes! I said it "SUKKU and BASE" lol...for you curlys who don't understand let me you ease your confusion..this is what it looks like
And Yes! My tee says "My boyfriend is a teenage werewolf!" LOL
I also do a  lot of twisting and twist outs...

My Glam cousin with her twist outs..

You can easily do twist outs yourself or get someone to make them for you, below are different videos which explains  steps and procedures on how to get a perfect twist out...

This video is particularly for curlys with TWAs (Tinny winny Afro)

Have a Curly Easter!!!

And remember hair does not bind us together LOVE does...
